About

Kristen Tagle, Owner/LMT

I began my career in massage in 2008 at Texas Healing Arts Institute in Austin, TX. My first 2 years were spent working under the guidance of a local chiropractor. My clinical experience gave me the knowledge and skills to address various muscular dysfunctions. I now have over 600 hours of education and a focus on deep tissue, sports and prenatal massage.

I am inspired by the power of touch and the ability of the body to heal without invasive procedures and medication.

Modalities: Deep Tissue, Triggerpoint, Prenatal, Sports, Myofascial
Areas Of Focus: Frozen Shoulder, TMJ, Scar Tissue, Legs/Hips/Glutes
TX LMT License #: 108227

Frequently Asked Questions

Please arrive no more than 5 minutes before your appointment start time.  In the event that you arrive late, your treatment will still end on time in consideration of the next client.

We will discuss your health history, bodywork experience, preferences, and goals.  Depending on our treatment goals, I may analyze your posture and range of motion to identify structural imbalances contributing to your pain or tension. If there are any areas of your body that you would rather we avoid, please let me know before we get started.

After your assessment, I will leave the room and return once you are laying comfortably between the sheets on the table. Please undress to your level of comfort. During your massage, you will be draped to protect your privacy, so completely undressing is appropriate. If you feel more comfortable wearing undergarments, please feel free to do so.

Throughout your session please simply relax, breathe and allow me to move your limbs without assistance. I’ll check in with you periodically for feedback on pressure and your general comfort.  Please speak up if you become uncomfortable for any reason! If you feel pain, if you need more pressure, if the room is too warm or too cold, if the music is too loud, if your sinuses become uncomfortably congested…. I want you to let me know!  My most effective if you are comfortable and completely relaxed.

When your session is over, I’ll leave you to rest for a few minutes. Take your time getting up, note any changes in your body, and let everything sink in. When you’re ready, come back to the reception area and enjoy a glass of water before checking out.

Absolutely!  However, minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.  A Minor Consent form must be filled out prior to beginning their session.  The parent or legal guardian must be present for the duration of the treatment.

You should undress to the level you are comfortable.  For a full body massage, most clients get completely undressed.  However, if you’re more comfortable leaving your underwear on, that’s totally fine.  I will always work around the clothes you have left on to the best of my ability.  If removing all your clothes makes you too nervous and unable to relax, then you are not getting the optimal benefit from the session.

Draping is required in this establishment.  In the event that you are too warm, I can remove the top blanket and continue your session with a top sheet only.

This depends on the type of massage and the depth of the strokes.  There is a difference between “productive discomfort” and pain. Pain can be an indication that the muscle is possibly injured or inflamed and pressure/technique should be adjusted.  The most effective and deepest massage always works with your body’s natural response, not against it.

If you’d like to, sure! But you certainly don’t have to. The most important thing to remember is that this is your time.

If I’m doing anything to make you uncomfortable, please let me know immediately.  You can also let me know if you get too warm/cold, if the room is too bright, or if the pressure needs to be adjusted (lighter or deeper). If something is not working for you – speak up!  It’s OK!

There are few conditions which would prevent you from enjoying massage. You should not book a massage if you have a fever, cold/flu, or contagious skin infection.  That’s it.

There are many other conditions in which I may need to adapt my techniques (i.e. arthritis or osteoporosis) or avoid an area completely (i.e. cuts or burns). With some conditions, it is a good idea to get approval from your physician before you receive massage (cancer, certain heart conditions, pregnancy).  This doesn’t mean you can’t get massage, but it’s always better to err on the side of caution.

Though not required, gratuities are a great way to show appreciation for your therapist. Tips average between 15% – 25% of the service price. You may leave a tip in cash or add it to your credit card at check out.

I accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, and Debit cards, as well as cash. We also accept personal checks from repeat clients.

I do not accept medical insurance, but we can provide you with the necessary documentation to file for reimbursement. Please check with your company for benefits and any documentation requirements. I accept HSA/FSA (Health Savings Accounts) cards.

BOOKING & CANCELLATION POLICIES
We understand that unanticipated events can happen to anyone. In our desire to be effective and fair to all clients, the following policies are honored:

CANCELLATION POLICY
24 hours notice is required for all scheduled appointments. Any appointment not cancelled within the 24 hours window will be charged full price for the session. If you have prepaid for your session and cancelled with more than 24 hours notice, you will be refunded automatically the same day of your cancellation.

If another client books in your canceled appointment time, the fee will be waived.

LATE ARRIVALS
If you arrive late, your session may be shortened in order to accommodate others whose appointments follow yours. Depending upon how late you arrive, your therapist will then determine if there is enough time remaining to start a treatment. Regardless of the length of the treatment actually given, you will be responsible for the “full” session. Out of respect and consideration to your therapist and other customers, please plan accordingly and be on time.
